PDX-based Trumpet Player with East Coast Roots

Going into 5th grade I thought I was going to play the saxophone. However, it looked intimidating with its reeds and many, many keys for my tiny hands to master. The trumpet, with its 3 keys and comparative visual simplicity, caught my eye. “Now this I can handle” I thought, naively.

Since then, and with the support of several fantastic teachers over the years, I haven’t been able to put the horn down - with the exception of an extended break during the COVID-19 pandemic during which we welcomed our daughter into the world and moved across the country.
