Brass Quintet

Traditionally composed of 2 trumpets, 1 french horn, 1 trombone, and 1 tuba, the brass quintet hold a special place in the realm of music performance. Each voice is critical and plays a key role in the development of the arranger’s thematic concept.

While the 1st trumpet often leads the group setting the overall pace and tone, audiences can expect to hear each performer carry the tune at one or more points in a given piece. Each part is exposed and must blend together to achieve the intended musical effect.
